'Race Vans' or 'Sports Vans' can cover a tonne of different types of conversions but they all specialise in one area, a huge amount of secure storage for your prized possessions. Generally they combine a living space, like in a motorhome or camper van, with a large rear garage to store some form of race vehicle, such as a go kart, race motorbike, track bike, motorcross bike, sidecar etc. These vans also prove exceptionally popular for people who work in trades, allowing the space at the rear to be used to carry tools, meaning you can use it as an every day vehicle.
This type of van conversion is also very popular with extreme sports enthusiasts, with ample room for Skiis and other large sports equipment. We've built van conversions for mountain biking, canoeing, surfing, cycling, etc.
The most common vans to use as base vehicles for race van are the Mercedes Sprinter/VW Crafter (LT35) and Iveco Daily, mainly because of their size, the Iveco Daily being especially large, with a massive 4.5m rear load space, but other vans can also be used, such as the Ford Transit Jumbo or extra long Relay/Ducato range.
Due to the size and almost unlimited number of layout options we prefer customers to come to us with their specification and we will draw up bespoke designs that can tick all the boxes. There are dozens of features that can be added such as toilet and shower cubicle and fully funtional kitchen making these perfect for weekends away at the race track or in the wilderness with the bikes and a bunch of mates. If required we can still fit the standard type side conversion which consists of a pull out seat/bed (rock and roll bed), wardrobe and kitchen unit. Doing this will still leave room for a large garage or workshop at the rear.
We’re happy to do the full campervan conversion for you, but we do also offer a flat pack service where you can build and install this yourself. All our campervan interior furniture is made from lightweight plywood that we’ve source from local, reliable suppliers.
